Details: Porter Jr. was returning from a night out in New York City to a hotel where he and former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick were staying. Gondrezick was upset with how late he was returning and locked the door. After entering the room with help of hotel security, Porter Jr. allegedly “beat up” Gondrezick. The attack left her with a fractured neck vertebra and a deep cut above her right eye. He didn’t stop until Gondrezik ran into the hallway covered in blood, at which point he was subsequently arrested. This is the second arrest during Porter Jr’s NBA career.
Bouknight, James
Charge: Driving while intoxicated

Age 22
Details: Bouknight was found unconscious in a Charlotte-area parking garage in the early morning hours, just days before the 2022-23 NBA season was set to begin. He appeared to be heavily intoxicated and armed with a handgun, and was arrested and charged with DWI. He was the third Hornet to be arrested in just the last five months.

Details: Prince was arrested at Miami International Airport on a fugitive out-of-state warrant from Texas. The warrant stems from traces of drugs found during a traffic stop in his home state.

Details: Harrell was pulled over in Kentucky for tailgating, and upon approaching the vehicle officers smelled marijuana. Harrell admitted to being in possession and produced a small amount of marijuana from his sweatpants. Office searched the car, however, and found an additional three pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags in the backseat, and arrested Harrell on felony drug-trafficking charges.

Charge: Felony domestic violence
Arrest Date: June 29, 2022
Franchise: Charlotte Hornets
Age 24
Details: Bridges was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with felony domestic violence. His wife later posted graphic images on Instagram detailing the abuse, which included “a fracture nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck from being choked until I went to sleep and a severe concussion”.
Hayes, Jaxson
Charge: Felony assault of a law enforcement officer

Age 21
Details: Police in Los Angeles were called to a home for a domestic disturbance and when they attempted to check on the parties involved, Hayes tried to keep them from entering the premises. He got combative with officers and a fight broke out, with Hayes getting tased and police forced to put out an “officer needs help” radio call. Both Hayes and an officer were taken to a hospital to get treatment for minor injuries following his arrest.
Caruso, Alex
Charge: Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia
Arrest Date: June 22, 2021
Franchise: Los Angeles Lakers

Details: Caruso was attempting to board a flight in Texas when TSA officials searched his bags and found an herb grinder that contained a small amount of marijuana. Caruso was then arrested for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.

Charge: Marijuana possession and improperly handling a firearm in a vehicle

Age 20
Details: Porter Jr was arrested after crashing his Mercedes Benz at 2am, as arriving officers discovered a loaded handgun and marijuana in his vehicle. Charges were eventually dropped the following month.

Details: Officers were called to Beasley’s residence a day earlier on a reported weapons offense. The reporting individuals told officers they had stopped their car in front of the house, and Beasley “walked up to their vehicle, tapped on the vehicle window, pointed a gun at them and advised them to get off of the property.” Police subsequently found drugs as well as multiple guns including one that was reported stolen. Beasley eventually pled guilty to felony threats of violence and sentenced to 120 days in jail.
